Essentials of COBIT
One Day Workshop
Workshop abstract

With the pervasiveness of IT in all aspects of business, IT governance has emerged to be a key focus area for alignment and management of IT in any major enterprise. COBIT® or Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology, currently in its 3rd edition and published by the IT Governance Institute, is the de facto IT governance framework in use today.

Increasingly, with recent legislation such as the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 in the U.S., better understanding of governing IT using the COBIT® framework is considered to be essential for anyone involved in managing, auditing or reducing risk in IT. This 1-day workshop will inform participants about the context of IT governance and how the COBIT® framework addresses all the key elements of governing the IT lifecycle, using a model consisting of 34 IT processes in 4 domains. With this understanding, workshop participants will be able to formulate a suitable IT governance framework and action plan for their organization.
