Value Driven Software Engineering : Low Risk, High Return Development (28th March, 2005 Timing: 9.00 to 12.30 Hours)

Software development is about creating value, not delivering code. Yet, all to often, software fails to deliver the business value customers need. This tutorial will help you change that, by integrating software development to value creation and delivery. You’ll exactly know how to identify which features add value and which don’t – and refocus your entire development process on delivering value, more rapidly.

Value Driven Software Engineering shows you how to:

  • Identify Customer Valued Features – the fundamental units of value in software development
  • Accelerate value delivery by linking iterative development with iterative funding
  • Maximize returns through incremental architecture techniques
  • Incorporate ‘intangibles’ throughout the software development process
  • Quantify financial risk at every step of the development process
  • Build and configure investment options linked to delivery sequence to optimize ROI

Whichever methodology you’re already using – RUP or XP – this tutorial shows you how to achieve the goals that matter most to your business – reduced financial risk, predictable cash flow and higher ROI.
